I created this blog as an exercise for my brain, a way of expressing myself and sorta organizing my thoughts in a somewhat coherent fashion. The lack of entries indicates I have yet to make it an integral part of my day. It's not like I don't have time, there's plenty of that. So let's see if I can't give myself a boost for the rest of the month, and beyond.
I'll do a separate post on the freeze itself, but I want to get this Cruz thing off my chest and put it behind. Let's start with some defense. It wasn't like he was on a plane by himself. It was full of Texans wanting to escape the disaster that was Texas. I can't fault him for that. But he showed what kind of leader he is: do what I say, not what I do. Let me diverge a bit to mention that Governors Cuomo and Newsome have their own problems with that. But on the flip side, Beto O'Rourke was in Texas running a phone bank for seniors who needed contacts for whatever resources they needed. Even AOC, in New York, did a fund-raiser for Texans and has over $2 million for relief. I saw an article indicating she will fly to Houston to distribute supplies.
Granted, Cruz could have organized something from Cancun. But that really isn't who he is. Let's face it, he is the least liked senator in D.C. He's not a nice person, he has no empathy. He has shown time and again he's in it for himself. Let me reiterate that I voted Republican for 38 years. Sadly, that party now appears to be devoid of persons of principle.
